Cigar Rolling & Tasting Workshop

About this experience

Where the lounge night is about tasting and the business, this workshop is about making. Victor and one of his torcedores teach you how filler, binder and wrapper leaves differ, how they are sorted and how a blend is built for strength and flavor.

Then you sit at a rolling table with a chaveta and a wooden mold and roll your own cigar from filler to cap. It takes a few tries. While your cigar rests in the press, you taste a finished cigar made from the same leaf, so you can compare your work with a professional’s.

Your day

1. 6:00 PM

   Leaf and blending

   Handle filler, binder and wrapper leaves and learn how a blend is put together.

   30 min

2. 6:30 PM

   Rolling demo

   Watch a torcedor roll a cigar start to finish at working speed.

   30 min

3. 7:00 PM

   Roll your own

   Bunch, press, wrap and cap your own cigar with coaching at the table.

   1 hr

4. 8:00 PM

   Tasting

   Smoke a finished cigar from the same leaf, with a spirit or coffee pairing.

What’s included

• All leaf and tools for rolling
• Your hand-rolled cigar in a keepsake tube
• One finished cigar for tasting
• A pour or espresso with the tasting

Good to know

• Guests must be 21+ with a valid government ID; no exceptions.
• The tasting is in a smoking room. Non-alcoholic pairings are available.
• Plan a ride home if you drink; please do not drive after the tasting.

Victor Salazar20 years in the cigar trade, 8 as a lounge owner

Victor Salazar learned to roll cigars from his grandfather in Little Havana and worked for a tobacco importer before opening his own lounge. His members-only room has about 250 members and a walk-in humidor stocked from small Caribbean and Central American factories. He hosts pairing nights every month.
