About Kai
Kai "Skyline" Monroe started writing rhymes in a notebook in middle school and recorded his first songs on a laptop microphone in his bedroom. He played open mics around Atlanta for years before booking paid shows.
He has since released four independent albums and toured small and mid-size venues across the Southeast without a label deal. He produces some of his own beats, handles his own merch and booking, and plans each release months ahead on a detailed calendar. His weeks mix studio sessions, writing, show logistics and a lot of spreadsheets.
Skyline hosts because he wants people to see that an independent music career is a real business. He enjoys coaching new writers on structure and flow, and he is direct about what streaming, shows and merch actually pay.
