About Lena
Lena Novak studied illustration and spent a few years freelancing before starting a two-year tattoo apprenticeship. Most of that apprenticeship was cleaning stations, drawing flash and learning sterile procedure before she ever tattooed a client.
She now specializes in fine-line botanical and blackwork pieces and is usually booked about two months out. She co-owns a private four-artist studio in Brooklyn, where she splits her time between consultations, drawing, tattooing and the shared work of running the studio.
Lena hosts because she wants people to understand the care behind a good tattoo, from design and placement to hygiene, and to hear honestly how apprenticeships and studio ownership work.
