About this experience
Cody started in go-karts, and he still uses them to teach racecraft. At an outdoor kart track near Charlotte, he walks the circuit with you on foot first, pointing out braking markers, turn-in points and where to be patient.
Then you drive. You run timed sessions in a rental kart while Cody watches from the corners, and between sessions he goes over your lap times and data with you. By the last session most guests are several seconds a lap faster, and you finish with a short race against the others in your group.
Your day
Timing depends on the day, so the steps below are in order without set times.
Check-in and safety briefing
Sign the track waiver, get fitted for a helmet and hear the track’s flag and safety rules.
Track walk
Walk the circuit with Cody and mark braking points, apexes and passing zones.
First session
Get comfortable in the kart, then debrief lap times and lines with Cody.
Coached sessions
Two more sessions with specific goals: braking, corner exit and consistency.
Group race and wrap-up
A short race if you booked with others, then a review of your best laps.
What’s included
- Three to four timed kart sessions
- Helmet, balaclava and neck brace

- One-on-one coaching between sessions
Good to know
- Guests must be 16+ (under 18 with a guardian signing the waiver) and meet the track’s height requirement.
- All drivers sign the track’s liability waiver. Karts are the track’s rental karts, not race cars.

- Sessions may shorten or pause in heavy rain or lightning, per the track’s rules.
