This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how TagAlong, Inc. (collectively, “TagAlong,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information in connection with your access to and use of our mobile application, website, and any related services, features, content, or applications (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing, downloading, registering for, or using the Services in any manner, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the collection, use, disclosure, and storage of your information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Policy, you must not access or use the Services.

This Policy applies to all users of the Services, including without limitation registered users, visitors, and any individuals who interact with TagAlong through the Services or other digital interfaces that link to this Policy.

This Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service and forms a legally binding agreement between you and TagAlong. In the event of a conflict between this Policy and applicable law, the applicable law shall govern.

2Definitions and Categories of Personal Information

2.1Definitions

For purposes of this Privacy Policy, the following definitions apply:

  • “Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular individual or household, as defined under applicable law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
  • “Sensitive Personal Information” means a subset of Personal Information that includes specific sensitive data elements such as precise geolocation, account login credentials, financial information, and other data defined as sensitive under applicable privacy laws.
  • “Processing” means any operation performed on Personal Information, including collection, use, storage, disclosure, analysis, deletion, or modification.
  • “Service Providers” means third parties that process Personal Information on behalf of TagAlong for a business purpose pursuant to a written contract.
  • “Third Parties” means entities that are not the user, TagAlong, or a Service Provider.
  • “Business Purpose” means the use of Personal Information for operational purposes reasonably necessary and proportionate to achieve the purpose for which the information was collected, as defined under applicable law.
  • “Commercial Purpose” means the use of Personal Information to advance TagAlong’s commercial or economic interests, such as advertising or marketing.
  • “User,” “You,” or “Your” means any individual who accesses or uses the Services.

2.2Categories of Personal Information We Collect

In the preceding 12 months (and on an ongoing basis), TagAlong may collect the following categories of Personal Information:

2.3Sensitive Personal Information

TagAlong may collect and process the following categories of Sensitive Personal Information, where applicable:

Sensitive Personal Information is used only as necessary to:

  • Provide core functionality of the Services

TagAlong does not use Sensitive Personal Information to infer characteristics about users beyond what is necessary to provide the Services.

We do not collect additional categories of Personal Information without providing notice to users.

3How We Use Personal Information

We do not authorize third parties to use Personal Information for:

5.1Retention Principles

TagAlong retains Personal Information only for as long as is reasonably necessary and proportionate to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to:

Retention periods are determined based on the nature of the information, the purpose of processing, and applicable legal requirements, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

5.2Retention Categories and Timeframes

While actual retention periods may vary depending on circumstances, TagAlong generally follows these guidelines:

  • Deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period after account deletion request, except where retention is required by law

BUser Content and Communications

  • Retained while associated with your account
  • May persist in backups or systems for a limited period after deletion
  • Messages and shared content may remain visible to other users if already shared

CTransaction and Financial Data

  • Retained as necessary to comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations
  • Typically retained for a minimum of 4–7 years where required by law

DDevice, Usage, and Analytics Data

  • Retained for internal analysis and system improvement
  • Typically retained in aggregated or de-identified form where feasible

ELocation Data

  • Retained only as long as necessary to provide location-based features
  • Precise location data is minimized or deleted when no longer needed

FSecurity and Log Data

  • Retained as necessary for fraud detection, system integrity, and legal compliance

These safeguards are designed in accordance with industry standards and take into account the nature of the data, the scope of processing, and the risks associated with processing Personal Information.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your Personal Information.

8.7Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature. At this time, there is no universally accepted standard for responding to DNT signals. TagAlong does not respond to DNT signals but does recognize legally required opt-out mechanisms such as GPC where applicable.

8.8Changes to Tracking Practices

We may update our use of Tracking Technologies as the Services evolve. If we make material changes, we will update this Policy and provide notice where required by law.

9Children’s Privacy

9.1Age Restrictions

TagAlong does not direct its Services to, and does not knowingly collect Personal Information from, any individual under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction, such as 16 in certain regions).

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least the minimum legal age required to use the Services in your jurisdiction.

9.2No Knowing Collection from Minors

We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain Personal Information from children under the age of 13.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected Personal Information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to:

  • Delete the information promptly
  • Terminate the associated account (if applicable)
  • Prevent further collection from that user

9.3Parental Rights

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a child under your care has provided Personal Information to TagAlong without your consent, you may contact us to request:

  • Deletion of the child’s Personal Information
  • Termination of the child’s account (if applicable)

We will take reasonable steps to verify the identity and authority of the requesting parent or guardian before fulfilling such requests.

9.4Limited Age Exceptions (Teen Users)

Where permitted by applicable law, individuals aged 13–17 may be permitted to use the Services with appropriate consent or in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

In such cases, we will process Personal Information in accordance with applicable youth privacy laws and implement appropriate safeguards.

9.5No Behavioral Advertising to Children

We do not knowingly use Personal Information collected from children under 16 (or applicable age threshold in certain jurisdictions) for:

TagAlong complies with applicable children’s privacy laws, including but not limited to:

10International Users and Data Transfers

10.1Global Availability

TagAlong is operated in the United States and is intended for use by individuals located in the United States and other jurisdictions where the Services are lawfully available.

If you access or use the Services from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, to the extent applicable.

10.2Cross-Border Data Transfers

By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that your Personal Information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where TagAlong or its service providers operate.

These jurisdictions may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country of residence and may not provide the same level of data protection.

10.3Legal Basis for Transfers (Where Applicable)

Where required under applicable law (including GDPR or similar frameworks), we rely on lawful mechanisms to transfer Personal Information internationally, which may include:

  • Standard contractual clauses approved by regulatory authorities
