Build Your Streaming Setup

About this experience

This session is about your setup, not Nova’s show. Bring your laptop and whatever gear you already own. Nova helps you plan a setup for your budget, then configures free streaming software on your machine with you: scenes, sources, audio filters and alerts.

She shows you what matters most at each price point (it is usually the microphone and lighting, not the camera), fixes common audio problems and runs a private test stream so you can see and hear the result. You leave with a working setup and a shopping list ranked by what to upgrade next.

   Set up a simple two-light arrangement and frame your camera.

   Build starting, live and break scenes in streaming software and add alerts.

   Private test stream

   Run an unlisted test stream and review it together.

Good to know

• Bring a laptop (and charger) plus any mic, camera or headset you own. Loaner gear is available to try.
• The test stream is private and unlisted; nothing goes live publicly.
• Guests must be 14+ (under 18 with a guardian).
